Family Business

December 3rd, 2007 by admin

After my sister finished a business course in http://www.schoolsinstlouis.com/, our family decided to set up our own family business and have her manage it. I and our parents are going to invest our money and my sister is going to take care of all the operations and decision making of this business. This is great for my investment portfolio and will prevent my money in the bank from being idle. We have all decided that the nature of our business would be food and service.

The reason why we want to enter the restaurant business is because food is one of the basic needs of people. It is assumed that the demand for food will never drop down but instead it will continuously increase. We are already doing the necessary procedures and steps towards setting up the company. The money we initially invested will go to renovation and preparation of a small building down town. We have also started hiring some service crew and office staff.

Setting up a business requires several considerations. A planning stage should be carefully done as the business’ success lies on it. If you are just planning to start a small business, a quick case study of your current market would be useful. This may involve the saturation of the market and the analysis of your competitors. Other indirect factors that can affect the flow of activity in your business such as getting a merchant account setup for your business should also be considered.

Basic requirements in opening a business are money as capital, property as an investment, people as your human resource and your products or services. Sometimes things will not go exactly as planned but you can learn from experiences and gain further knowledge on how to make your business successful. You just have to keep in mind that no success story was made overnight but rather through a long process and hard work.
