The concept of poker is simple: The highest set of cards that stay in the game wins. Before you can play poker and be able to make a good betting strategy, knowing the value of your hand is essential. The value of each card is determined by its value and the suits have no effect on this. The value of a hand depends on the combination of the cards:
Royal Flush - composed of 10, Jack, Queen, King and Ace, all of the same suit.
Straight Flush - five cards in numerical order, all of the same suit.
Four of a Kind - four cards of the same numerical value and a random card.
Full House - three cards of the same value plus a pair
Flush - five cards of the same suit, regardless of value
Straight -five cards in numerical order, regardless of their suits.
Three of a Kind - three cards of the same numerical rank, others are just random cards
Two Pair - two sets of pairs, and another random card
One Pair - one set of pairs, and the other three are just random cards
High Card - no card combination. In this situation, the highest value among the cards is considered
